Violence exploded at various stores nationwide as frenzied Black Friday shoppers endure pepper spray, tasers and gunfire in order to get a marked-down Xbox video game or the last pair of Air Jordan tennis shoes.
Early this morning a woman sprayed a crowd of ten people at Wal Mart in Porter Ranch, CA to get one of the last gaming consoles. LA firefighters arrived at the scene to treat the victims and nobody required hospitilization.
However the suspect paid for the gaming console and left the store before the police arrived!
Authorities haven’t identified the suspect and will be looking at available video, as formal charges have not been pressed yet. Regardless, could this case have been self defense? I would hope so.
In Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, police said two people suffered injuries in an apparent armed robbery attempt after they left a Walmart store around 1 a.m. Friday, CNN affiliate WMBF reported.
Also, according to CNN.Com, would-be ‘robbers struck a man on the head and shot a woman in the leg before another shopper displayed a gun and the assailants fled, the station said, citing Myrtle Beach Police Capt. Kevin Heins. The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment, he said.’
Sheriff’s in North Carolina were looking for two men after shots were fired about 2 a.m. at a local shopping mall.
An off-duty officer working security at a Walmart in Kinston, NC, sprayed shoppers with pepper spray in an effort to stop a disturbance. Also, a man in Kissimmee, Florida was arrested at Walmart for resisting arrest during an altercation at a jewelry counter. A brawl broke out in Rome, NY at another Walmart in the electronics department and two people were taken to the hospital. Police in Florence, Alabama had to use a gun TWICE on a 22-year-old male Walmart customer who was later charged with drunk and disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
As it seems, we must all carry a weapon to either protect us or defend us these days. Happy Shopping!
